Overview:

Located in the heart of the Lewsey Farm community, in the west of Luton, The Ferrars Academy is a vibrant and inclusive 3 form entry infant school with its own nursery setting where children are encouraged to ‘believe you can’ and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment. We pride ourselves in offering excellence in early years education with high quality experiences supporting every child’s academic, physical, social and emotional development.

Our creative ‘book based’  curriculum and engaging approach to teaching ensures that children are excited to learn each day. With access to excellent facilities—including an ICT Suite, Design and Technology room, well resourced library, and large pond area—lessons are varied, stimulating, and tailored to meet the needs of every learner. We believe that learning should be meaningful and relevant, which is why we enrich our curriculum with educational visits, themed weeks, and inspiring workshops.

At Ferrars, we foster a culture of mutual respect and value each child as an individual. We are a values based school. This philosophy creates a positive and happy atmosphere that we hope children carry with them into the wider community. We celebrate achievements regularly through assemblies and within the classroom setting

Our dedicated and enthusiastic staff team is committed to raising standards in teaching and learning. We work in close partnership with families and the wider community to ensure every child reaches their full potential. Our Pastoral Team plays a vital role in this, offering tailored courses, support groups, and a welcoming space for parents—always ready with a listening ear and advice if needed.

We also place great importance on developing positive social skills and emotional wellbeing. Through cooperative play and a wide range of extra-curricular clubs—including art, computing, gardening, music, drama, cookery, and sports—children build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of community.

At The Ferrars Academy, we believe in the power of a growth mindset and strive to instil pride, independence, and self-discipline in every child alongside our well established values curriculum. We are proud to be a school where children truly learn and grow together.
